Trombone | Tuba | Euphonium
A native of Old Town, Maine, Trevor began musical studies at age 10 with the trumpet. By the time he was 16, Trevor had also picked up the euphonium, and played both instruments successfully throughout high school and into college, where he also learned trombone. In 1998, Trevor began work at the University of Maine in Orono on a Bachelor of Music Education degree while playing all three of his major instruments, as well as french horn in the Universities various ensembles.
In 2001, Trevor left the University of Maine after winning an audition with the United States Navy music program. He attended the Armed Forces School of Music in Little Creek, Virginia, graduating the 6 month course in only 2 months. He then was stationed at the U.S. Navy Atlantic Fleet Band, now called the Fleet Forces Command Band in Norfolk, Virginia, which performed roughly 550 times per year. In this capacity, Trevor served as euphonium soloist in the Concert Band, trombonist in the Brass Quintet, Fleet Jazz Ensemble, and dixie-land band: Full Speed Ahead. Trevor also performed on trumpet with the Fleet Jazz Ensemble, and as a percussionist in the Ceremonial Unit when needed.
Trevor returned to Maine in 2006, resuming his degree work and graduating in 2008. He is now working toward a Master of Music degree in Instrumental Conducting at the University of Maine, where his duties include teaching lessons to undergraduate trombone, euphonium, and tuba majors, as well as a brass methods course for all undergraduate music majors.
Trevor has had the opportunity to study with some fantastic musicians, including Brian Nadeau, Fred Heath, SFC Douglas Winks, Doug Elliott, and MUCM Roger Behrend. Trevor has had great fortune to share the stage with such great musicians as Marvin Stamm, Michael Brecker, Bruce Hornsby, Keely Smith, Lee Greenwood, John Fedchock and Wayne Bergeron.
